Luxury Hospitality Industry Pioneer and Innovator
Atef Mankarios is considered one of the most renowned and respected
professionals in the luxury hospitality industry. In a long and distinguished
career that led him to C.E.O positions in private and public companies, as well
as managing a joint venture with a prominent multi billion dollar opportunity
fund.
He was responsible for building one of the most esteemed, acclaimed and
profitable luxury management companies in the business, as well as for
developing a preeminent portfolio of iconic properties. Projects include The
Lanesborough in London, Bel Air in Los Angeles, Las Ventanas in Los Cabos,
Mexico, Caneel Bay, La Samanna and Little Dix Bay, as well as developments in
Indonesia, Japan, Italy, Monaco, the Middle East and Panama.
In January of 2004, Mr. Mankarios stepped down as President and Chief Executive
Officer of St. Regis Hotels & Resorts and formed The Trevi Luxury Hospitality
Group to provide highly specialized management and advisory services for the
luxury hospitality industry.
The company oversaw the Four Seasons Hotels, New York and Santa Barbara .and
Las Ventanas in Cabo San Lucas as well as management of San Ysidro Ranch in
California and Kona Village in Hawaii – in total more than $2 billion in hotel
assets. Technical assistance was also provided to hotel developments in Panama,
Bali and the Bahamas. Trevi assumed management of the Setai Miami Beach in April
2012, guiding it to the number one hotel in Florida and achieving the coveted FORBES 5 STAR designation for the first time in the hotel’s history.
